A First Hello

I have now recently decided, to finally start a blog.

Time of creation? 04.30-ish am, Dec. 27, 2009

The time speaks a lot for itself, I really should be sleeping... However, I suppose it's rather entertaining to finally write during this newly given free time of mine. Better not let it go to waste right? ;)

Well let's see. What happened today? I am pretty aware that you all do not care of my precise actions today and its details, and nor do you care of what I wore, my "dagens outfit". So, I'll share something that might make your few minutes of reading worthwhile.

The rush of the after-Christmas shopping started today, in the yearly Boxing Day Sale (mellandagsrea). I, being one of those victims of commercialism (I sadly confess), was one of those amongst the crowd. Hundreds, or even thousands, walked around town with one... five... ten(???) plastic bags each, containing their bargain finds inside. I however, was puzzled how I walked around 5h+ with my sister holding only one bag, of which inside had mom's Christmas gift I had to return.

Through my eyes it feels as though Christmas is now turning into a holiday circling one major thing, possessions. I must say, one of the most famous lines I have heard during this Christmas was, "How was your Christmas? Did you get anything nice? I got _____!!!!!" Is Christmas now the holiday of shopping and getting loads of nice new things?

When I received my gifts underneath the Christmas tree on Christmas day, I asked my mom and sister why I got so many presents. It felt unneccessary to me as inside I was thinking, that I don't really need nor deserve all of those gifts I received. I was just happy to experience an incredibly rare sight that moment. Seeing my family and I gather and spend quality time together is a very special moment for me, making each day and minute until Christmas day worth all the wait.
